Gayle's babiesIf you have never had a schnauzer as a part of your family, you have missed a great experience.

Our Miniature Schnauzers are home-raised, lovable little companions. With the kids all grown, the house seemed empty--so what were we to do? :O) Lloyd is retired and the main caregiver for the dogs. He's generally available to show them anytime, with at least a couple of hours' notice. He doesn't do e-mail, so e-mails are answered by Gayle in the evenings after work (someone has to work to feed all these hungry mouths!). Best contact method for Lloyd is his cell 512-784-9086.

When we have pups, they are born and raised in the house - lots of early socializing and definitely "people" puppies. Lloyd and Pup

We live on 3+ acres in Buda, just south of Austin, Texas, and have an acre securely fenced for play. Everyone gets lots of play time outside and everyone gets lots of love and attention many times during the day. Our breeding runs are large fenced areas with shade and fresh water with doggie doors into their individual 'rooms' in the kennel, assuring compliance with AKC records regulations and health standards. We have full time help to make sure the runs and nursery are clean and the dogs are well cared for and groomed. We are not trying to breed show dogs, although we certainly want that perfect schnauzer build; but to us the most important thing is temperament - we like loving lap dogs and companions. Once they are old enough, our pups spend a big part of the day outside, with plenty of shade and water available. When they're big enough for a collar and leash, Lloyd starts taking them on nightly walks to begin their leash training. We crate train all our dogs, and even our older dogs will climb in their open crate to nap or just to have some time alone-- it's their room and they like the security of the crate.

Our Nursery is in our house. Moms and babies stay close inside with us where we can keep an eye on them to monitor mom and the babies' progress - and so they are socialized and used to being around people from day one. We're very careful about guarding our dogs' health, babies or adults, using USDA regulations as our goals and guidelines. We were supporters of the proposed PAWS legislation to strengthen rules and inspections for breeders. So please do not be offended if we ask you not to bring your dog, or anyone who is ill with you when you come to visit. We do not allow visits to pups before they have had their first shots at 6 weeks, but will gladly provide you with pictures once they have their eyes open and are past those first days of life. We do not allow outside dogs into our yard or house, and we do provide hand sanitizer before you handle any of our pets and puppies. No visitors but our vet, AKC, or authorized inspectors are allowed in our breeding or nursery areas. All the precautions in the world can't give 100% protection for the growing pups until their immunities are established, but we try to take every measure possible to protect them. Until they have had all their puppy shots, and even after that, a pup's immunity is not 100% -- they need to be protected just as we protect our two-legged children. Please remember that when you get a new puppy - don't take him to the pet store or public parks or show-and-tell at school until he is fully immunized --per your vet's advice.

Raleigh & the girlsWe believe in the pack animal theory of The Dog Whisperer (Cesar of television fame-Lloyd's favorite)and The Dog Listener - Jan Fennell (Gayle's favorite) and sincerely believe that misbehaving is 'operator error' of letting the dog take control of the situation. Schnauzers are good watch dogs, and will let you know when there are visitors, but they can also learn to stop barking once you've been alerted. And of course, there is a difference between barking, and a schnauzer's "talking" to you. .They do very well with our grandchildren and our catsCrissy & Savannah

We do offer a one-year health guarantee against genetic defects for our puppies, and are always willing to work with you if you find you can't keep your new puppy. We want what's best for our pups and their new owners.

In good standing with the AKC, approved in compliance for our most recent inspection.

Emma Vinny
As you will see from the pictures, some of our "babies" are white, and Vinny is a beautiful parti-colored guy. We like the non-standard colors and the"perfect" mini-schnauzer build and personality. Non standard colors such as white or the black and white, liver or parti-colored may be registered with AKC by sending pictures with the registration. They are not eligible for conformity shows, but may take part in some companion events such as agility, obedience, etc.

ShebaSheba, our sweet Misty's daughter, is a salt and pepper mini-schnauzer.
